Gerda Kalniņa (Juškeviča) - professional painter
Gerda is an artist who graduated from the Janis Rozentāls Art School in 2021 with a degree in painting. Her creative work is based on the fundamentals of classical painting - drawing and composition - but her expression is free, expressive, and colorful. She was already recognized during her studies, winning 1st place in the II International Visual Arts Competition "Solving the Riddle of Artist Gederts Eliass" on the theme "Still Life. Countryside Gifts."
The main source of inspiration in her painting is nature and people. Working in various genres, Gerda seeks a connection between control and intuition in her works, creating paintings in which academic stability is balanced with lively, personal energy.
Even as a student, she actively participated in exhibitions, painting daily in her studio and outdoors. She has also participated in art plein air events and led master classes.
